Campus Nursery School was established in the year 1964 in the University of Rajasthan Campus with the vision to serve the society by providing pre-primary education at 4 levels Play Group, Nursery, KG and Prep for children from 2 to 6 years. The cooperative venture of Campus residents has grown from a modest beginning of only twelve children and three voluntary teachers to about 200 children and ten teachers and volunteers.
The school is run by a non-profitable, registered society: Campus School Society.
The aim of the school is to provide pre-set education to children of University employees, and to a limited extent to Non-University children, in a free and creative atmosphere through planned activities that will help in a balanced physical, emotional, cognitive and language development. In order to reduce the performance oriented stress on the very young child, which is harmful for its personality, the school has a four tier system of Play Group, Nursery, KG and Prep classes, in which the child will generally remain for one session in each class. There are no exams, however, we have regular assessment, based on which the child is promoted to the next class.
The Campus School Society is a service oriented, non-commercial organization, which runs on the basis of voluntary participation of its members. The society does not receive any financial aid from any organization/Government. Presently it runs a Pre-School Educational Programme. The Campus School is a registered body, founded by University staff members of various categories in 1964. The General Assembly of the school consists of its Founder Members, Life Members and all parents. It has the overall ownership of the school. It elects the President from amongst the Founder Members for a term of three years. Day-to-day management is looked after by the Governing Council, which also elects the other bearers from amongst the Founder Members. Parents and teachers are represented on the Governing Council. All policies related to admission, learning programmes, selection of staff, financial control etc. are decided by the Governing Council of which the Director of the school is the Jt. Secretary. The lists of present office bearers is mentioned in the diary.
